What is a life path number?
Your life path number is the number your full birth date reduces to. Numerology treats it as the main number in a chart, the one that describes the road you are on rather than a single trait. It runs from 1 to 9, plus the master numbers 11, 22 and 33, which are never reduced.
How to find your life path number
Split your birth date into month, day and year. Reduce each one to a single digit, but stop if it lands on 11, 22 or 33. Add the three results and reduce the total the same way. The form at the top of this page does the arithmetic and shows every line.

Life path number 1
A 1 walks ahead. The tradition reads this path as independence: starting things, deciding alone, and carrying the weight of being first. People on it tend to lead without being asked. The hard part is asking for help, which can feel like losing ground. The work of a 1 is to stay original without staying isolated.
Life path number 2
A 2 works in pairs. This path is read as partnership, tact and the patience to let things ripen. People on it notice what others feel before it is said. The hard part is putting their own needs on the table instead of keeping the peace. A 2 grows by learning that balance includes them too.
Life path number 3
A 3 needs to be heard. The tradition reads this path as expression: words, art, humor, the gift of making an idea visible. People on it light up a room and scatter easily. The hard part is finishing. A 3 comes into its own when it picks one thing to say and says it fully.

- Can your life path number change?
- No. It comes from your birth date, which never changes. What can differ is the method. Two ways of adding the date are in use, and on some dates they give different numbers. The calculation on this page shows you which one it follows.
- Which life path number is the rarest?
- Thirty-three. Across birth dates from 1900 to 2025, it comes out for 0.7% of them, far fewer than any other number. Twenty-two comes next, then two. The master numbers take dates that would otherwise have reduced to those digits.
